Our staff have worked in health facilities with physician groups of various sizes and all specialties. Our staff includes certified billers and coders, a dedicated information technology team and accounts receivable staff.

Team Biography

Roland Alvarado, President, Director of IT Services and Co-founder

Roland has project management experience and have facilitated a number of technical project implementations for healthcare providers. He is also proficient in public speaking and have conducted numerous training sessions on new products and devices for a variety of hospital personnel and physician groups.

Roland has experience developing and implementing Media Library Projects (MLP) that requires both hard and electronic media. Roland has the capability of setting up all your office documentation and or "media in an electronic venue". Roland has also acquired skills in the following areas: coding and creating software bundled packages for Systems Management Software, How-To-Documents, and other complex system installations. Roland’s knowledge and exceptional skills allows him to continue to be innovative in today’s ever changing information technology field.

Ruth Baker-Wakefield, Founder and Vice President of ALW Medical Billing Services, Ltd.

Ruth has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Care Leadership from National Louis University.  She brings over 15 years of extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Her expertise includes accounts receivable, administrative work in health insurance companies paying medical and disability claims, coordinator of operations and medical billing functions. She has the knowledge and the skills to surpass your expectations when hiring an offsite consultant.

During her career in the healthcare field she has developed strong business relationships with top-level management, physicians and a wide range of insurance companies. Her strength is providing exceptional service and offering you expertise in a variety of computer software programs. She also possess exceptional organizational skills, efficiency, flexibility and attention to detail.


Walter E. Summers
, Director of Business Development Marketing/Sales

Walter have seventeen years of experience working with all aspects of customer contact strategies and contact center management. He has held leadership positions in several industries including credit card, telecommunications, collection agencies and private consulting specializing in customer lifecycle strategies. Walter have managed departments with as little as 15 employees to as many as 400 including two contact centers. He possess a high level of contact center organizational and leadership competencies in the areas of business process improvement, staff development, strategic planning, customer service, and account receivable management.

As part of the leadership team for a major credit card company Walter held several positions in contact center operations including credit, collections, consumer credit counseling, authorization, and customer service. In his most recent assignment he managed an inbound customer service department with a sales functional area responsible for cross-selling product and services via an inbound customer channel. Prior to that, he managed an inbound/outbound credit and collections group for the credit card division with duties that included reducing write-offs, approving authorizations on over the limits and evaluating credit accounts for credit card increases. In total Walter has worked in credit card and customer service operations for more that 21 years.

Current duties and responsibilities include developing the company’s government, medical, and financial collections portfolio. He is also responsible for consulting with financial, medical and government clients on issues related to credit, collection, customer acquisition, and resource allocation strategies.

Alexander G. Ramirez, IT Coordinator and Network Architect

Alex has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electronic Engineering, a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics, as well as a Software Engineering Degree from East-West University. He have experience in network administration, web site design, and software design. He has also held a teaching position at East West University.

At ALW he coordinates network design, implementation and also participates in the day to day administration and security of the network. He has also helped in designing the web site for ALW and is the creator of all interactive online content. Custom software solutions implemented by ALW are built by Alex and his team of talented software engineers.
